MATT Goode was disappointed with his players despite Banbury extending their winning run to seven league games.

Bulls recovered from a 13-point deficit to beat Chippenham 42-41 in a thrilling South West 1 East contest.

Victory saw Banbury remain third and two points off the sole play-off spot occupied by second-placed Old Centralians.

Confidence will be high heading into this weekend’s clash at home to fellow promotion contenders Marlborough.

But head coach Goode was less than pleased with his side’s showing.

He said: “It was a really poor performance.

“We went up early on by 14 points and then we were arrogant.

“That arrogance cost us a lot and defensively we were poor.

“I think we were thinking about some of the games coming up against some of the teams near the top of the league and not fully focused.”
