BANBURY maintained their ninepoint lead in Midlands 2 West (South) with a 31-0 victory at Leamington.

The Bulls had lost their last six matches at Kenilworth Road, but halted the run with six tries.

Sean Bannister got the Bulls up and running and Ed Phillips added the extras.

And they scored almost immediately from the restart when Leamington’s scrum half and full back collided under a high ball and Adam Walsh ran in.

Phillips converted and then dived over himself for 19-0.

Walsh crossed for his second on 55 minutes, Phillips adding the extras.

Josh Deegan then scored the sixth and final try, which was unconverted.

The hosts finished on top, but Bulls saw the game out.

Banbury are in action on Friday when they host Oxford Harlequins in the Oxfordshire Cup semi-finals.
