BANBURY RFC ran in five tries to convincingly beat title rivals Earlsdon and open up a nine-point lead at the top of the table.

Bulls secured a 33-0 victory over the Coventry-based side to put themselves in pole position for promotion from Midlands 2 West (South) with five games remaining.

The leaders could not be stopped at Bodicote Park and Joe Mills made it 20 tries in as many games when he crossed to make it 5-0.

Bulls had the bit between their teeth and Sean Bannister crashed over, with Ed Phillips adding the extras.

The hosts wanted more and Phillips converted his own try to rack up 19 points in the first 20 minutes.

After the break, Bannister crossed and captain Phillips added the extras.

Jimmy Manley then helped himself to a try, Phillips converting.
