EASINGTON Sports and Abingdon United will have a second chance to progress in the Emirates FA Cup when they play extra preliminary round replays tonight.

For Easington it will create a small piece of history, as the Uhlsport Hellenic Division 1 West side play their first home game in the competition.

Their maiden fixture saw plenty of drama, with Henry Rose and Andrew Stidder on target as Easington twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at Winslow United.

Rose had a header cleared off the line in second-half stoppage-time, so the teams must meet again at Addison Road this evening.

The winners will progress to the preliminary round later this month, with a home tie against either Reading City or Chipping Sodbury Town.

It was also 2-2 at Northcourt Road, where Samuel Wharton and Lester Davis were on target for Abingdon United against Burnham.

The victors in their meeting in Buckinghamshire this evening will be away to Ardley United, who cruised through in fine style.

Deon Gallacher hit four goals alongside a double from Greg Hackett and one from James McCarthy in a 7-0 demolition of visitors Shortwood United.

There were also seven goals in Wantage Town’s clash with Oxhey Jets, where the Oxfordshire side squeezed through 4-3.

Connor Mattimore struck a dramatic 94th-minute winner in Hertfordshire to set up a trip to Slimbridge AFC.

The visitors looked to be cruising through when Harvey Scholes headed in just after the break to build on Chris Jackson’s first-half penalty.

But the Jets roared back to lead 3-2, only for another Jackson spot-kick appearing to have salvaged a replay before Mattimore’s heroics.

Lance Williams scored twice as Didcot Town finished their pre-season with a thumping 5-0 win at home to Moneyfields.

Stuart Cattell, Matt Woodley and an own goal completed the scoring.

Thame United will also go into the league campaign on a high, thanks to a 3-1 win over visitors Fleet Town.

Liam Tack’s early double was followed by a strike from Ben Sturgess.

Callum Harvey netted as Kidlington went down 3-1 at home to Winchester City, while North Leigh lost 3-0 to Cinderford Town.
