NORTH Leigh boss John Brough has urged his team to show more desire ahead of their Evo-Stik South League West Division derby at home to Kidlington.

After a dreadful run, which has seen them plummet down the table, the Millers have showed improved form of late.

After drawing 1-1 with leaders Taunton Town, they almost held another high-flier, AFC Totton, to a draw in midweek, only to lose to a last-minute goal.

Earlier in the season, the Millers went down 2-1 at Kidlington and Brough says he wants to see a hungrier attitude this time around.

He said: “Derby games are usually a bit feisty, and I’d like to think we will see a bit of that, because local pride is up for grabs.

“I felt when we played them before we didn’t really want it enough. All I ask for is that desire to do well and want a result.

“I’ll be looking for an improvement in the game at their place.”

North Leigh will be missing Ryan Paddock, Anthony Simpson and Ben Strong, all of whom are unavailable, while Jamie Cook is doubtful with a knee injury.

Conor McDonagh will be hoping to continue his marvellous start for Kidlington.

The forward, who joined from Banbury United last month, scored a hat-trick as Julian McCalmon’s side triumphed 4-0 away top promotion-chasing Bideford in their last outing a fortnight ago.

The Greens hope to build on that victory, but will be without Lewis Coyle, due to a serious knee injury.

Sam Elkins is a major doubt for Didcot Town’s trip to basement club Bishops Cleeve.

Elkins picked up a knee injury in Tuesday’s League Cup semi-final victory over Larkhall Athletic.

Matty Woodley is unavailable for the trip to Gloucestershire.

Boss Andy Ballard is not taking anything for granted against their hosts.

He said: “I don’t want the fact that we are in fourth place to play on anybody’s mind.

“We should be full of confidence going to Bishops Cleeve, but they are fighting for their Southern League survival.

“If we play at the levels we have set ourselves, there’s no reason why we can’t pick up another three points, but we’re taking nothing for granted.”

In the East Division, Thame United will be eager to bounce back from their midweek 6-0 mauling at AFC Rushden & Diamonds when they host Marlow at the ASM Stadium.

Banbury United full back Charlie Hawtin will be out for the rest of the season after suffering a broken foot in their 1-1 draw against Kings Langley a fortnight ago.

His place in boss Mike Ford’s side for their Evo-Stik South League Premier Division match at home to Farnborough Town tomorrow is taken by Jordy Ngathe.

That’s the only change from the draw against Kings Langley, when the Puritans were denied victory by a late goal for the second successive game.

Ford said: “That has happened to us three times in the last ten matches.

“We became too defensive and that has cost us dear. We must learn from that.”
