OXFORD City returned to winning ways in Vanarama National League South with a 2-1 victory at ten-man Chelmsford City, WRITES GEORGE RICKWOOD.

After Tom Blackwell gave the hosts an early lead, goals from Josh Ashby and Zac McEachran turned the tables to put the visitors third.

Chelmsford’s first attack resulted in the opener, as Dara Dada teed up Blackwell to swivel and find the corner.

Ben Dudzinski denied the goalscorer shortly after, but City increased the pressure and the equaliser came ten minutes before half-time.

Harmon’s cross was punched away by Chelmsford goalkeeper Jacob Marsden, only for Ashby to loop the header over the stopper and into the net.

Dada was dismissed following an off the ball incident with Canice Carroll as the half drew to a close and City looked to take advantage of the extra man.

Iaciofano could not convert when Harmon’s effort was palmed out to him, but the visitors found a way.

Ashby’s superb cross was lashed home by McEachran to send City above Dartford in National League South.

James Golding’s solo goal gave Banbury United a vital 2-1 win over fourth-place Peterborough Sports.

The Oxford United loanee fired home from the edge of the penalty area midway through the second half – two minutes after Chris Wreh had levelled the scores.
