The Vanarama National League South outfit were in action hours after announcing their manager had left to join Weymouth.

Caretaker coaches Andy Ballard and Ross Jenkins named a strong line-up at Court Place Farm and goals from Jacob Bancroft, Harvey Bradbury, Charlie Rowan and Joe Iaciofano secured a comfortable victory.

City play three levels above their Uhlsport United Counties Premier Division South opponents and took the lead less than a minute into a dominant first half.

Bancroft was too quick for the Easington defence as he stroked home to ensure a lightning start for the hosts.

Lewis Coyle and Bradbury went close to adding to the lead, while Velocity football graduate Ewan Clark caught the eye and saw an effort saved by Joe White on the half-hour.

Bancroft’s close-range strike somehow deflected over the crossbar five minutes before the break and he then created City’s second goal for his fellow forward.

The former Stevenage man outpaced the Easington defence down the wing and crossed into the six-yard box, where Bradbury applied the finish.

Rowan sealed victory ten minutes after the restart, firing home when the ball fell his way in the penalty area, before Clark was denied a brilliant solo goal when White got down to save.

Easington had something to cheer when Alex Stott grabbed a consolation 17 minutes from time, before substitute Iaciofano made it 4-1 in the closing stages.
