Oxford City are out of the FA Trophy after falling to a 4-1 defeat to fellow Vanarama National League South side St. Albans City, WRITES GEORGE RICKWOOD.

A Shaun Jeffers hat-trick and goal from former City man Kyran Wiltshire ensured a happy coach ride home for the Hertfordshire outfit.

Joe Iaciofano pulled it back to 2-1 shortly after the break, but Charlie Rowan was sent off with 25 minutes left.

City were unlucky to fall behind midway through the first half as Jeffers won the ball off the defence and a speculative effort deflected past Ben Dudzinski.

St Albans added a second just before the break, Romeo Akinola producing a beautiful cross for Jeffers to volley in his second.

With the weather taking a turn for the worse, City caught the visitors cold.

Josh Ashby displayed his excellent set-piece ability to find Iaciofano in space at the back post.

Hope was short-lived however, as St Albans restored their two-goal cushion five minutes later.

Dudzinski, who did not have his best day at the office, brought down Akinola and then watched as Jeffers completed his hat trick from the spot.

Rowan then saw red for a stamp on Bayley Brown, before Mitchell Weiss teed up Wiltshire to finish a well-worked move at the back post.

It leaves the league as City's only focus, with second-placed Ebbsfleet United coming to Court Place Farm on Tuesday.

BANBURY United went second in Pitching In Southern League Premier Central with a 2-0 win over Royston Town.

Morgan Roberts put the hosts 1-0 up after 11 minutes, before Daniel Braithwaite’s red card reduced the visitors to ten men.

Giorgio Rasulo added a second after the break.

In Division 1 Central, Ryan Knight’s hat-trick secured a 3-2 win for Kidlington at Colney Heath.

Ryan Blake’s double and a Jack Tompkins strike gave Thame United a 3-0 victory at Waltham Abbey, while Tyriq Hunte scored twice and Mark Francis notched as Wantage Town were held 3-3 by Hertford Town.

Didcot Town were beaten 3-0 by visitors Kempston Rovers.
