KIDLINGTON Green’s excellent start to the Cowley Workers ODDA season continued with a win over Premier Section side Challow British Legion.

Graham Manning led the way for the Section 1 leaders, claiming the week’s highest checkout of 156.

Rhys Kerry beat his father to double the lead, while Joe Palmer made it 3-0.

Dan Kirton got the Legion on the board, but wins from Martin Britnell and Mark Laverack gave the Green men a 5-1 lead.

Although Challow won the pairs 2-1, it was too little, too late.

Didcot Railway Club claimed their first Section 1 victory of the season, against a visiting TJ’s B side still waiting for a win.

The hosts blew their opponents away by running up a 5-0 lead as Joe Betteridge, Stu Rideout, Ash Presley, Steve Rideout and Paul Godding were all successful.

Steve Willoughby pulled one back, but the Railway Club took the pairs 2-1 for a 7-2 triumph.

Stuart Bell hit two maximums as hosts Chequers Inn B edged past Queens Head A 5-4 in Section 2.

Matty Bray and Dean Fowler put the visitors ahead early on.

But Bell’s feat was the fourth singles win in a row, as James Sutherland, Ade Cox and Andy Webb put them 4-2 up.

The Queens won the pairs 2-1 but lost 5-4 overall.

It was similarly close between Phoenix Sports and hosts Kidlington FC B in Section 2 of the ladies’ competition.

A see-saw singles finished all square as Rachel Ritchie, Rebecca Ritchie and Emma Quarterman’s wins for Phoenix were cancelled out by Nicola Slay, Hollie Lord and Nicola Betteridge.

A 2-1 pairs win sealed a 5-4 success for Kidlington.
