OXFORD United are expected to shuffle their pack for the visit to Exeter City tonight.

Head coach Karl Robinson has rotated his side throughout the Leasing.com Trophy campaign and is due to do so again.

It is particularly pressing given the second round tie is being played on a Wednesday, giving players 24 hours less to recover for Saturday’s Sky Bet League One clash with Shrewsbury Town.

Nico Jones, Fabio Lopes and Tyler Goodrham featured in the previous Trophy game at Crawley Town and the visitors squad is likely to have a youthful look again.

Derek Fazackerley, United’s first team coach said: “It’s something we’ll probably be looking to do again.

“It gives us an idea of where they are in their development and gives them an idea of what they need to do in terms of nailing down a permanent place in the squad.”

Jack Stevens will make his fifth U's appearance in goal, with Simon Eastwood ruled out through injury, so Max Harris will be promoted to the bench.

Exeter are still smarting from losing a 2-0 lead to draw with Hartlepool United in the Emirates FA Cup on Sunday.

The winners will visit the U’s, but City boss Matt Taylor is demanding a reaction tonight.

He said: “They’ve got to concentrate on the next game, if they’ve got a shirt I suggest they try their hardest to keep it.

“They’ve all got to take a collective responsibility along with myself as manager, so we’ve got to improve certain aspects and we’ll start doing that on Wednesday.”

Former U’s loanee Lee Holmes is expected to be out with a broken toe, while No 1 goalkeeper Lewis Ward is sidelined with a broken arm.
