LEAGUE One strugglers Southend United have appointed Kevin Bond until the end of the season.
The Essex club sacked Chris Powell last week after an 11-game winless run saw them slip from mid-table towards the relegation zone.
They are seven points behind Oxford United and are only outside the bottom four on goal difference.
Bond, who is best known as part of Harry Redknapp's coaching team at a variety of clubs including Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur and QPR, managed Bournemouth between 2006 and 2008.
