OXFORD United should have no concerns about a waterlogged pitch at Rochdale tonight despite the arrival of Storm Gareth.

Heavy rain was forecast in Rochdale overnight and for most of the morning.

But the Sky Bet League One club have pulled out the stops to get the game on, hiring an inflatable dome to protect the Spotland pitch.

It was brought in last week and used before Saturday's 2-1 win against Shrewsbury Town.

The cover was then put back on - and high winds on Sunday forced the postponement of Rochdale Hornets' rugby league fixture against York City Knights.

The conditions meant the dome could not be removed safely to install the goalposts, but there are no such concerns ahead of tonight.

A yellow weather warning for high winds has been issued for the region from 9pm though, which could have an impact on the latter stages of the clash.
