SAXTON Rovers remain eight points clear at the top of Division 1 as they hammered hosts Steventon 5-0 in the North Berks League, writes Richard Underwood.

Tom Stanley, Ollie Nadin, Ryley Stone, Louis Bloomfield and Dan Parry scored the goals.

Ardington came away from East Hendred with a 4-2 win thanks to a double from Luke Faircloth and further goals from Gavin Jones and Tom Eatwell.

Hendred hit back through Jordan Parrott and Sam Belcher.

Long Wittenham brushed hosts Westminster aside with a 6-1 win as Lewis Monahan and Callum Bowler both bagged braces.

Will Houseman and Joe Murphy were also on the mark, with Andy Hope replying.

Liam Revell smashed a four-timer for East Hendred Res in a thumping 8-0 win at Long Wittenham Res.

Liam Eltham (2), Steve Vaux and Toby Daley scored the others.

Hagbourne Res went top of Division 4 with a hard-fought 2-1 win against visitors Harwell & Appleford.

The hosts went in front when George Smith headed in, but on the stroke of half-time, Eddie Stanhope levelled from the penalty spot.

In a tight second half, Hagbourne secured victory as Charlie Noble fired home with the game’s second penalty.

In the first round of the War Memorial Cup, Drayton recorded a crushing 17-1 win over Hanney 66 Club.

Josh Dennis hit a six-timer, with Pat Walsh claiming five and Alex Kerry four.

Carl Bolton and Lewis Allen scored Drayton’s others, Hanney’s scant reply coming from Jack Slight.
