Simon Eastwood
Rarely stretched, as Forest Green failed to hit the target with their best chances 7
Tony McMahon
Linked well with Whyte in the first half and whipped in a couple of dangerous crosses, which weren’t attacked. On the back foot defensively late on and was booked 6.5
Curtis Nelson
Largely marshalled Reuben Reid well and attempted to show some urgency on the ball in the second half 7
Rob Dickie
Slightly scruffier than Nelson when coming up against Reid, but played his part in another clean sheet 6.5
Luke Garbutt
Unable to link up with Browne in the way McMahon and Whyte managed on the opposite flank. Forced off at half-time with what is only hoped to be a tight hamstring 6
John Mousinho
Best work all came early on when Rovers started brightly. Otherwise unable to set a high enough tempo in possession, not helped by a lack of options ahead of him. Booked 5
James Henry
Unable to find the space he needed to influence the game. One brilliant pass for Whyte aside, he was kept quiet 5
Cameron Brannagan
Sprayed a couple of passes out of play, but he was at least looking to get United moving. Laid on chances for Smith and Browne, before forcing a save late on 7 MAN OF THE MATCH
Gavin Whyte
United’s best attacking outlet in the first half, but looked to be running on empty after that 6.5
Sam Smith
Could not build on his midweek display, albeit with far less service. Glanced one header just wide, but otherwise gave Rovers little to worry about 5
Marcus Browne
Caused problems without carving out a clear chance. Could have done with more protection from the officials, especially in the second half 6
Cameron Norman (replaced Garbutt, half-time)
Steady job in an unfamiliar role at left back. Recovered from a shaky start and still looked to get forward 6.5
Jamie Mackie (replaced Smith, 63 mins)
Quick to flash one shot wide, but the half-fit forward did not seriously threaten a breakthrough 6
Jamie Hanson (replaced Mousinho, 63 mins)
Tried to increase the tempo, with mixed results. Had one effort deflected just off target 6
