GLOWING reviews from students have seen a city centre business school shortlisted for a national award.

The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards will take place next month, celebrating higher education providers around the country.

A shortlist has been announced based on 41,000 student reviews of 160 institutions, and Oxford Business College is among this year's contenders.

The private college, based in George Street, is one of 10 competitors in the 'independent higher education' category.

Its principal Gerry Takamura said: "This is a terrific vote of confidence from our students and one we are very grateful for.

"It’s a real testament to the hard work and talent of our tutors and the positive, supportive environment that we pride ourselves on for our students at OBC.

"The fact that this recognition is based solely on student reviews makes it extra special for all our staff."

Oxford Business College offers a range of qualifications covering business and English language, and this is the second year running it has been shortlisted for the awards.

Mrs Takamura said this was a 'really exciting time' for the college.

Winners of all 15 categories will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on April 25.
