AN EXCLUSIVE North Oxford nursery has been rated 'outstanding' after its first ever Ofsted inspection.
Bainton Road Nursery gained the best possible rating following a visit from the childcare watchdog last month.
A report released last week said: "Staff provide stimulating environments with extensive activities that children are eager to engage in fully.
"They place a sharp focus on helping babies and children to gain excellent communication skills.
"Children are prepared exceptionally well for their moves to school."
The £1.7m nursery was opened by St John's College last year, mainly for children of staff who work at the college or for Oxford University.
At its opening ceremony in March 2017, one former St John's student described it as 'the James Bond of nurseries'.
It was rated 'outstanding' in all four areas of assessment.
Ofsted said children showed high levels of independence and babies 'feed themselves confidently'.
