An Oxford burger bar which has a cult following has been rated 1 for hygiene.

A visit to Peppers Burgers at 84 Walton Street in Jericho has been described as 'a rite of passage' for new arrivals in Oxford.

However, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows it was given the very low score on January 31.

Inspectors said major improvements must be made to systems or checks to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat.
