Lord Cameron of Lochiel, formerly a Tory MSP, has recently taken his seat in the House of Lords.

The 47-year-old Oxford graduate was joined by Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron of Chipping Norton and independent crossbencher Lord Cameron of Dillington.

Donald Cameron, with an extensive political background, resigned from Holyrood to serve as a minister in the Scotland Office.

During the brief ceremony, he displayed the traditional scarlet robes and swore his oath of allegiance to the King.

Having been a representative for the Highlands and Islands region since 2016, he carried various roles within the shadow cabinet.

He will step into his new role as parliamentary undersecretary of state in the Scotland Office.

The King approved his appointment last month, conferring on him a life peerage.

His successor as Highlands and Islands MSP is former leader of Moray Council Tim Eagle.
