A short-eared owl sighting has been captured on the Blenheim Estate in one of nine newly planted woodlands.
These owls, often seen hunting during the day, are of European conservation concern and are classed as an ‘Amber List’ species.
The photos were taken by Tom Goffe, assistant forestry contracts manager at Nicholsons, who collaborated with Morgan Sindall Group plc and the Forestry Commission to plant 270,000 trees,

This has created publicly accessible woodlands along the Dorn and Glyme river valleys.
The activity forms part of a wider commitment by Blenheim Estate to boost its 'natural capital'.
