OXFORD United Women are looking to maintain the pressure at the top of the National League Southern Premier following their midweek draw with title rivals Southampton.

The U’s travel to play MK Dons tomorrow following the 1-1 draw at home to Southampton on Wednesday.

Carly Johns’ equaliser shortly before half-time ensured United and Southampton shared the points, after Alisha Ware had put the visitors in front.

Cat Beaver said: “We were a bit frustrated not to win on Wednesday.

“I thought we looked the more likely side to win it in the second half but we take the one point and we keep going.

“MK will be a different sort of challenge but we have recovered from Wednesday and we’ll be ready again.”

The draw with Southampton ended United’s run of 11 straight victories, while they dropped points for the first time since October 3.

Elsewhere in the National League Southern Premier this weekend, league leaders Ipswich Town – one point above the U’s – travel to ninth-placed Cardiff.

Southampton, 11 points behind Ipswich but with five games in hand, are at home to Bridgwater United, in fifth.
