An Oxfordshire MP visited an electric vehicle company, that hopes to bring more jobs to the county.

Victoria Prentis MP visited Saietta Electric Drive in Upper Heyford last week.

Saietta was founded in 2014 and specialise in electric drive solutions using axial-flux motor technology.

The Banbury Conservative MP met Chief Commercial Officer Graham Lenden to discuss their plans to bring more engineering jobs to the local area and also got a chance to test drive the Twizy, powered by Saietta’s proprietary AFT elective motor innovation.

Ms Prentis said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Saietta Electric Drive in Upper Heyford last week. We are proud to have so much modern industry in the local area, providing worldwide solutions and attracting global business.”

“It was great to meet Chief Commercial Officer Graham Lenden to discuss opportunities going forward including bringing more engineering jobs to the area as well as how they intend to make their operation carbon neutral. Graham explained to me that Saietta’s business ethos is to tackle pollution in megacities, principally in Asia, by providing both whole vehicle and motor solutions.”

“I also found out that Saietta are looking to build a new pilot production facility and also convert an aircraft hangar into a motor durability test centre. Graham informed me that £37 million has been funded so far but more is required.”

“Towards the end of my visit, I got the opportunity to test drive the Twizy, powered by Saietta’s proprietary AFT elective motor innovation. It was really exciting!”
