An alleged Capri Sun robber will return to Oxford Crown Court later this week.

David James, 50, was expected to enter his plea to a single count of robbery on Friday.

But his brief, Lucy Tapper, asked Judge Nigel Daly to adjourn the plea hearing to enable his solicitors to take full instructions. It followed difficulties speaking to James over the courts service’s video conferencing programme.

James, of Bodley Place, Oxford, is accused of robbing another man of two Capri Sun juice drinks, a pack of cigarettes and £50 cash on Hawksmoor Road in April.

Judge Daly remanded him in custody ahead of the adjourned plea hearing on June 18.
