Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue service to host taster day for women
OXFORDSHIRE Fire and Rescue Service is looking to recruit more women into its ranks.
The fire service is hosting a taster day to show women what working as a firefighter is like, because it is 'a role that women generally do not consider'.
A day-long event is set to take place at Didcot Fire station between 9am and 3pm on Saturday, July 3.
In a social media post, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue service said: "We are encouraging more women to join us as firefighters.
"Being a firefighter is a role that women generally do not consider."
