AN Oxfordshire care home has ensured that every single resident and member of staff has got a coronavirus vaccination.

Clients and workers at Barchester’s Southerndown care home, in Chipping Norton, were ‘delighted’ to be invited to have the jab.

Every resident and employee was vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine at Chipping Norton Health Centre last week.

“Our teams have been magnificent in how they have risen to every challenge during this pandemic and we are proud to play our part in this next phase to ensure the most vulnerable are protected.”

Staff members received their first dose at the health centre then, as part of a 'whole-home approach' to vaccination, Dr Keenan and the team set up a mobile clinic.

On December 30, the home said it 'started providing residents and remaining staff with the best protection against Covid-19'.

Clemence Heriman, deputy manager at the care home said: “I am so pleased to be given the vaccine.

“It will help to keep our residents safe, and is the first step in getting things back to normal and having a buzz of visitors in the home once again.”

Getting everybody in the care home vaccinated has ‘lifted everyone’s spirits after what has been a very challenging year for everyone’.
