The rise in coronavirus cases has continued across Oxfordshire and the rest of the UK.

According to Public Health England, as of 9am, these are the number of new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours;

  • Oxford - 31
  • Oxfordshire - 84
  • UK - 16,171

The total coronavirus cases since the pandemic started;

  • Oxford - 1,726
  • Oxfordshire - 5,328
  • UK - 705,428

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

Across the UK a further 150 people were reported to have died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test.

It takes the confirmed UK death toll to 43,579.

Another 987 people have been admitted to hospital with coronavirus, with 52 of these in the South East.

The region currently has 269 patients in hospital with the virus and 11 are in serious enough condition to need ventilation.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the John Radcliffe, has not registered a Covid-19 death since July.
