A DANGEROUS driver who sped into oncoming traffic on Oxford’s ring road has had his sentencing delayed a second time.

Andrew Cribbes has admitted one count of theft, one of dangerous driving and further counts of driving without insurance or a licence.

The 45-year-old of Luther Street, Oxford, appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday where he was set to be sentenced for that string of offences.

At an earlier hearing it was revealed that Cribbes went on the crime spree on Sunday, March 1 this year.

Police officers had been responding to the theft of a water compressor at Westbury Crescent, Oxford, when they saw Cribbes, who was driving, at the Heyford Hill Roundabout.

He sped off before driving dangerously into oncoming traffic.

Eventually he smashed into a BMW, injuring a man inside, before he got out and fled on foot, when he was caught and arrested.

The case was adjourned in April so that further medical investigations could be carried out on the injured man.

At the same court yesterday it was revealed that this information had not yet been obtained and the case was adjourned again until October 12.
