A MAN has been arrested in connection with a fire at a derelict building in Middlesbrough.
The blaze broke out in the early hours of this morning in the property in Milbank Street, off Middlesbrough Road, South Bank.
A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson and remains in police custody.
Firefighters remained on the scene this morning.
Cleveland Fire Brigade said: "We were called at 2.50am this morning to a fire in a derelict property off Middlesbrough Road, in South Bank.
"Two engines from Grangetown and one from Middlesbrough attended.
"One fire engine and the hydraulic platform remain on site fire is under control crews are damping down."
