THREE men have been charged after gunshots were fired during a huge brawl in Widnes.

The fight, which involved up to 20 people, broke out on Factory Lane in Farnworth at around 12.30pm on Monday, August 3.

While a firearm is believed to have been discharged during the incident, there were no reports of any injuries.

Cheshire Police have confirmed that charges have now been brought against three men in connection with the incident.

They are Rueben Price, of Factory Lane, Ruben Price Jr, of Regent Street in Newton-le-Willows, and Luke Price, of Southworth Road in Newton.

The trio – aged 47, 25 and 52 respectively – have all been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and violent disorder.

All three are due to appear before Warrington Magistrates Court today, Thursday.

Two other men who were previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and affray over the disturbance have since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries by the force.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the ‘isolated incident’ to come forward, while officers have increased their patrols in the area.
