BMW says it remains on course towards achieving its targets for the full year, despite the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The BMW Group, which oversees the Mini plant in Cowley, says it was able to achieve a profit before tax of €498m (£450m) in the first half of the year.

During the first six months of 2020, the Mini brand sold 118,862 units, this down 31 per cent from last year.

BMW says its second strategic focus is on sustainability, with more than 11,000 electric Minis rolling off the production line in Oxford since the model launched last year.
