CREATIVE staff at a care home in Oxford brought the seaside all its travel-thirsty residents.

To banish the holiday blues, workers at Green Gates organised a fun-filled beach party in the sunshine.

The event had included a variety of interactive games and activities to keep residents entertained during lockdown.

Home manager Chris Stimpson called the party a ‘great success' and added: “It was fantastic to see our residents reminiscing and enjoying the sensory and traditional pleasures of a visit to the seaside.

“It is very important to bring different experiences to our residents.

“We are already thinking about what we are going to do next month.”

Residents were treated to fish and chips for lunch with a glass of chilled Pimms to lift their spirits.

One of the attendees, Audrey, said: “I have not been to the beach in over ten years.

“The day had such a nostalgic feel to it and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

“I have always loved the beach, so I am so glad we all got to experience it together.”
