MORE than 300 train enthusiasts visited Didcot Railway Centre for the living museum’s re-opening last weekend including the mayor and MP David Johnston.
Visitors were impressed with the temporary changes made at the 21-acre site to allow the popular railway centre to re-open safely. Changes included a one-way system and sanitiser stations.

The centre’s iconic 1932 engine shed, a demonstration goods train posed on one of the centre’s branch lines, the saloon from the Great Western Railway’s Royal Train and the locomotive on the turntable were all popular with photographers.
During the visit, Didcot Mayor Eleanor Hards presented a certificate of appreciation from the national Museums & Heritage Awards to long-serving volunteer Frank Dumbleton.
