THE A338 was closed yesterday evening due to a crash between a Range Rover and a boat.

The incident happened late on Thursday evening.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police was called at 8.48pm on Thursday July 2 to a report of a collision on the A338 near to the Blackwater junction.

"There were no reports of any injuries.

"The road was closed to allow for recovery of the vehicle and the boat.

"It is not clear what time the road reopened, but it appears the road was cleared by around 1.10am on Friday."

A post on the Dorset Traffic Cops Facebook page said: “Delays on the northbound A338, approximately half a mile north of Blackwater Junction due to RTC.

“The road will need to be closed upon the arrival of the recovery company to recover the Range Rover and boat.”
