ONE more person who tested positive for coronavirus has died in Oxfordshire, according to the latest figures published by NHS England last night.

The latest victim died while in the care of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust,.

The death takes the total number of deaths there to152.

The trust runs the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and Banbury’s Horton General Hospital.

However, there are no new recorded deaths at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the county’s community hospitals.

There have been almost 500 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Oxford, according the latest Public Health England figures.

Now broken down by council area, the data show where Oxfordshire’s 1,652 positive tests have been recorded.

Oxford has recorded the most cases, with 490, while South Oxfordshire has 301, Vale of White Horse 264, West Oxfordshire 269 and Cherwell 328.

In England a further 332 people, who tested positive for the virus, have died with a six-week-old baby among the victims.

It brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in the country to 22,764 as of Thursday at 5pm.

The youngest victim, the six-week-old baby, had underlying health problems, NHS England confirmed. The oldest victim was 103.

Out of the 332 patients, 22 had no known underlying health condition.

It is unknown where the baby was from, as the family requested that no information be released.
