'RESPONSIBLE' shoppers are following scientific advice on social distancing - by keeping two metres apart.
Customers at Oxfordshire supermarkets have welcomed the disciplined queues of calm shoppers, who are respecting the guidance on safe distances outside and inside stores.
Photographer Ed Nix saw this line of shoppers at the Co-op store in Chipping Norton, yesterday.
He said: " People were being pretty responsible.
"They had a full-on one-way system inside and staff were great. There were dispensers for sanitizing wipes dotted about and markers on the floor to distance people queuing at the tills."
He added: "There was so much stuff missing front the shelves - but at least they had toilet roll!"
Lucy Silver from North Oxford said she was "pleasantly surprised" to see shoppers following guidance in Summertown.
She said: "I was nervous about going out but it is proving impossible to get a delivery slot.
"However, people are not panicking and are being responsible, which is a relief. The shops seem pretty well-stocked too.
"I can't thank the shop staff enough for what they are doing. They really are on the frontline here."
