OXFORD airport welcomed its biggest ever commercial aeroplane earlier this week.
The Embraer EMB-195 E2 ‘Profit Hunter’ Demonstrator touched down near Kidlington on Monday and left today, heading to Cape Verde, Africa.
The plane, which has a striking black and gold lion design, is on a world tour, visiting prospective airline customers.
James Dillon-Godfray, Oxford Airport’s head of business development, joked: “I assure you we are not in contention to become London Heathrow’s third runway, but we are delighted to welcome this stunning commercial aircraft to Oxford.
“It shows the extraordinary field performance of this family of jets.”

The aircraft arrived from Larnaca in Cyprus, having previously been to Hydrabad Airport in India and Dubai World Central Airport, UAE.
The ‘Tech Lion’ is one of many specially painted jets that form Embraer’s E2 demo series, including a tiger, an eagle, and a great white shark.
