POLICE are looking for the next head of forensic services, and it could be you.
For £73,632-a-year the person will oversee everything that happens with the forensic departments across Thames Valley Police – which covers Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire and is the largest non-metropolitan police force in the UK.

The role might come with a sizeable salary, but it also carries a huge weight of responsibility with the chosen candidate overseeing the heath and safety, welfare, performance, training, development and discipline of more than 190 members of staff in the department.
The role also includes managing the budges to ensure that the team is running efficiently.
In the application details it warns that some parts of forensics can have an impact on staff wellbeing.

It says: “Digital forensics in particular carries significant risks with regards to the type of investigations and the impact on staff welfare e.g. child sexual exploitation.”
