A PRE-SCHOOL in Oxfordshire which has struggled with a leaky roof has a property developer to thank after it provided the funding to have it fixed.

North Leigh pre-school appealed for repairs for its leaking roof, and has found support in the form of national property developer, Bellway.

The pre-school was in desperate need of funding after bad weather caused its roof to leak last year, until Bellway stepped in with a £250 donation to get the problematic roof fixed.

Angela Buckingham, manager at the pre-school, said: “We were devastated to discover we had a leaking roof, because as a charity and non-profit making organisation, we don’t have the funds to have it repaired.

“We are extremely grateful for Bellway’s support.

“As the only pre-school in the village, we accommodate many children in North Leigh and the wider community, however we are only able to do this with the help of kind gestures such as this one.”

North Leigh pre-school is a registered charity and operates from a purpose-built Early Year building in the grounds of North Leigh Primary School, off Park Road.

It provides sessional and full day care childcare places for children aged between two and four years old.

Elaine Brown, head of sales for Bellway South Midlands, said: “When North Leigh pre-school approached us, we knew we wanted to help.

“It is so important that these children have a good environment to learn and play in, and we hope this gesture helps to kickstart the pre-school’s mission to repair its roof.”

Bellway is currently building new homes at Shepherds Walk, a development of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, off New Yatt Road.

Prices for the homes start at £303,000, up to £750,000.

Bellway employs more than 2,000 people across the country and has operated for over 70 years.
