YOUNGSTERS will rally in town today in another bid to save the planet.

The group of under 22's from Oxford Youth Strike and UK Student Climate Network (UKSN) will meet in Bonn Square on the day of love to 'bring people together'.

They will be joined by other climate change activists from Extinction Rebellion, and Band for Climate – who will be leading some music.

One of the strikers EJ Fawcett said: "It's important especially on days like this to remember that we have more that unites us than divides us, we will all be affected by the climate crisis and we need to work together to mitigate it."

Mums and dads from Parents for Future Oxford will be joining the youngsters at the protest from midday.

Rowan Ryrie from the group said: "It is fitting for a Valentine’s day strike that as parents, grandparents and carers, our main motivation for joining this strike is our love for our children. We feel a huge responsibility to do everything we can to try to leave our children - and all children - a healthy planet to grow up on; we will be encircling the strikers at midday to show our support.”
