A PRESTIGIOUS competition to establish that bartenders in the south east can be as creative as those from London took place at Michelin star Shinfield restaurant L'Ortolan this week.

Seven cocktail bartenders got into the spirit of dry January to create the best mocktail using low calorie wine alternative binary.
George, who works at Gogos Windsor, was first up to impress the judges with his drink 'Pom Pom Peach', made from grapefruit, pomegranate, peach and lots of other ingredients.

George said: "For me, it's always been cocktails.
"I have worked at Gogos Windsor for about three years.
"I'm never just working on one drink at a time, I always have a few on the go."
Judges assessed the drinks based on flavour, ingredients, how well the flavours work, creativity and speed of making them.
Jamie Proud, who works at One Pound Lane, was crowned winner.
He impressed with his mocktail 'Binary Reboot' and then with the second-round 'mystery box' drink.
