THERE are still places for this year’s Bicester Santa Run on Sunday – which boasts a new route.

The annual Santa Fun Run, organised by Bicester Town Council, has become a firm favourite on the calendar with more than 500 people taking part last year.

Residents are being urged to sign-up and help raise money for the Mayor, Jason Slaymaker’s charities, OYAP Trust, Nai’s House, Bicester Fire Cadets and Alexandra House of Joy.

Starting at Pingle field at 11am, Santas will weave their way around the streets of Bicester town centre, finishing back at Pingle Field to claim their medal and a bacon roll.

Oxford Mail:

Runners, including Deputy Mayor Nick Mawer, will race about 4k along the route.

Councillor Slaymaker said: “Watching a sea of Santas race around Bicester is an amazing sight. I would urge residents to take part, but if you can’t, then please come and watch and cheer the runners on - it really is great fun."

Entry costs £10 per adult, £5 for children or £25 for a family ticket which includes two adults and two children.

The price includes a Santa suit, participation medal and bacon roll at the finish line. You can register for the event at the town council’s office, in Garth Park, until Friday.
