A YELLOW weather warning for rain has been issued for Oxfordshire.

The Met Office warning is active from 6am tomorrow until 3pm on Wednesday, and advises of spray and flooding on roads and disruption to transport.

Oxford is forecast heavy rain from 8am tomorrow.

Most of the county is covered by the warning, with Chipping Norton and Banbury just escaping the affected area.

Seven flood alerts remain active in Oxfordshire today, warning of low-lying land and roads becoming submerged.

Although river levels have decreased since the deluge last week, the Environment Agency said it is 'closely monitoring' the situation as more heavy rain is expected.

It named Dorchester, Eynsham, Witney, Woodstock and Islip among areas at risk.
