ANOTHER man fell victim to a scam yesterday involving women pretending to be collecting money for charity.

Martin Millar, 64, from Oxford, was sat in his car in Waitrose car park in Headington waiting for his wife to finish shopping, when he was approached by two women.

They appeared as though they were 'deaf and mute' and were collecting names and addresses on a clipboard.

He said: "I gave them my contact details and I had a fiver in my pocket so I just gave it to them. They were very smiley, cute and were blowing kisses. They didn't talk.

"I didn't think anything of it. Then I saw the Oxford Mail report describing the same kind of incident.

"I know it was just a fiver but I feel like an idiot. These women are definitely still operating."

Similar attempts of this nature have been reported recently in Wantage, Didcot, Wallingford, Abingdon and Witney.

On one occasion a woman claiming to be collecting for charity stole £250 from a man who donated to her cause.

Mr Millar added: "I can definitely ID the women. They were young, short at about 5'5 or 5'6 and Eastern European."
