DRIVERS along the M40 have been met with the sight of more than 100 silhouettes of soldiers and a sea of popppies.

The special display has been put in place along a stretch to coincide with Remembrance Sunday.

Suzanna Make, sharing images of them on social media, wrote: "Driving south on the M40 just now we saw this beautiful remembrance tribute by a local sculptor up on the hillside.

"We just had to stop and find it. The, over 100 (I lost count at 100) soldier silhouettes and poppy wreaths overlook the M40 at Aston Rowant nature reserve near Christmas Common in the heart of the Chilterns. 

"Simply stunning."

The figures were made by Dan Barton Sculptures.
