THE work undertaken by Oxfordshire County Council could be 'seriously damaged' by further spending cuts that a councillor worries could be implemented soon.

Liz Brighouse, the leader of the council's Labour group, will ask for support over a motion she will table at a meeting next week.

She will ask for councillors to agree: "This council is concerned that local government in general and Oxfordshire in particular may have to make further cuts in staff for the most vulnerable people as a result of an emergency Spending Review which is required to fund Brexit."

Mrs Brighouse will ask her colleagues to support Ian Hudspeth, the leader of council, writing to the prime minister and chancellor to 'express deep concern about the impact of further cuts'.

The council's budget have been cut by about half over the last decade.
