The farm is ready, the stages are set and some of the biggest stars of music and food are ready to roll up to Oxfordshire’s last big music festival of the summer.

Rock star and celebrity cheesemaker Alex James will tomorrow throw open the gates to his farm at Kingham, near Chipping Norton for The Big Feastival.

the Blur bassist’s celebration of music and food is in its eighth year and has continued to grow. This weekend’s event, which runs until Sunday night, will see scores of bands and artists playing multiple stages. It will also feature a sprinkling of celebrity chefs, children’s entertainers and TV stars for three-days of family-friendly fun.

Artists include platinum-selling Rudimental who play a Friday night DJ set, Grammy Award winner Jess Glynne – the first British female solo artist to achieve seven No.1 singles in the UK –on Saturday, and Ivor Novello, Mercury and BRIT award-winning indie-pop band Elbow,who close the festival on Sunday.

The weekend will also feature singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi fresh from his storming set across Oxfordshire at Truck Festival and armed with his breakthrough hit Someone You Loved; Britpop era band Sleeper; and indie-rockers The Zutons, who shot to fame with the original Valerie.

Other sets come from producer and DJ Jonas Blue, acoustic singer and west Oxfordshire resident Jack Savoretti, Jade Bird, Nina Nesbitt, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Grandmaster Flash, Sleeper, Dodgy, The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show, DJ Luck & MC Neat, Oxford’s Little Brother Eli, Barns Courtney, Four of Diamonds, Duke, and feastival veterans The Cuban Brothers – who mix Latin pop with comedy and great moustaches.

They will be joined by some culinary big guns, including Oxfordshire’s Raymond Blanc; The Great British Bake Off judge and local resident Prue Leith; restaurateur and food writer Mark Hix; chef-patron of Tredwells in London, Chantelle Nicholson; chef and author Robin Gill; Italian culinary icon Gennaro Contaldo; Daniel Clifford, from the two Michelin-starred restaurant, Midsummer House; and James Lowe, who will be showcasing the credentials that earned him a Michelin star within 18 months of opening Lyle’s in London.

Also up are London restaurateur Tom Brown, award winning Peruvian cook Martin Morales, broadcaster and chef Andi Oliver, supermodel-turned-publican Jodie Kidd, The Great British Bake-Off winning Candice Brown, chef-turned model Isaac Carew, The Fabulous Baker Brothers Tom and Henry Herbert, and grill and bass star DJ BBQ.

More unusual attractions come in the form of bedtime story-reading by radio and X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary, Jodie Kidd and The Cuban Brothers, and appearances by the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Ballet, children’s TV megastar Justin Fletcher, Paw Patrol’s Chase & Marshall and Peppa Pig and George.

Countryfile presenter and farmer Adam Henson will also be on hand, joined by an assortment of beasts from his Cotswold Farm Park, near Stow-on-the-Wold.

Host Alex James told us: “This is our eighth year and our best line up to date. Feastival continues to expand, evolve and get better every summer and we’ve got more new tricks, surprises and festival firsts up our sleeves for this weekend.
