A WOMAN's mobile phone was stolen as a man crashed into parked vehicles in South Street, Reading, yesterday (Thursday, August 1).

At approximately 12.20am, the offender crashed into the victims Ford Ka, which was parked directly outside her house.

He then crashed into a number of other parked vehicles, and as the victim attempted to photograph his license plate, he took her phone.

The offender is described as being a white man, approximately 6ft 6ins, and aged between 30 and 40 years old.

He was also described as having a stubbly beard, light brown hair, and was wearing light coloured shorts and a light coloured vest.

He was also said to be bare foot.

The offender was seen to be driving a large, long wheel based white van.

The victim and a number of witnesses have confirmed that the van was a ‘Rabbit’s hire vehicle, and is identifiable by its signage.

Investigating Officer PC Colin Boyes, of Reading Force CID, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police.

“Likewise, if anybody believes they know the offender, please call the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 43190232848.

“If you don’t wish to talk directly with police, you can make a report online, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
