A new economic plan was unveiled for Oxfordshire on Friday.
The Oxfordshire Local Industrial Strategy aims to 'cement the county’s reputation as one of the foremost areas in the world to innovate'.
It sets out how the area will contribute towards the nationwide Industrial Strategy, which aims to raise productivity levels and create high-quality, well paid jobs.
ALSO READ: Citizens Assembly on Climate Change Oxford plans releasedThe plan was developed by the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, in collaboration with local authorities, businesses and central government.
The Confederation of British Industry's Regional Director, Richard Butler said: “Our area is already home to some the industries of tomorrow.
“These plans simply means jobs, investment and growth not just for Oxford but every part of the region and beyond.
ALSO READ: Oxford to Cambridge Expressway decision 'could be appealed'“We have some of the world’s most competitive and innovative companies based here and the four local industrial strategies layout the roadmap to ensure the OxCam Arc can continue to punch above its weight and attract global talent.
“These strategies also shows how we can become a global player in innovation including AI, Aerospace, Life Sciences and autonomous vehicles.”
