CRAZY costumes, music legends and flower power all feature in this week’s colourful collection of 'festival fun' entries.

Many Camera Club members were unable to resist the outlandish spectacle that is Eynsham Carnival's Shirt Race.

Oxford Mail:

We loved Steve Braggs' image of Frozen-inspired competitors in motion as they hurtle down the street.

A pair of Alice in Wonderland costume shots also impressed.

The Queen of Hearts is looking suitably regal in Maxine Hall's shot.

Oxford Mail:

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, meanwhile, can be seen in Diane Braggs' submission.

Another big event that captured the imagination was last weekend's Cowley Road Carnival, which saw 50,000 revellers descend on the East Oxford street.

One of the dancers who took part in the colourful parade features in Lesley Murray's photograph.

Oxford Mail:

A close-up shot of the woman's glitter-covered face makes for a striking shot, especially with the blurred fellow performers in the background.

IN PICTURES: Cosmic Cowley Road Carnival

A pair of merry carnival goers are captured in Cameron Howard's picture, which perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the Cowley Road event.

No festival would be complete without music and many snappers chose to focus on the thrill of live performances.

Oxford Mail:

We especially liked Peter Silver's image of Beverley Knight playing at Cornbury, mike in hand and looking out at the audience.

Another snap of pop stars we loved was crowds enjoying Scouting for Girls at Bardfest by Duncan Becker.

Sharing the shot on the Oxford Mail Camera Club page earlier this week, he wrote: “I hope this image captures some of the atmosphere and movement from deep in the pulsating, bouncing, happy throng.”

Oxford Mail:

Another musical image we enjoyed was of an accordion player at Wallingford's Bunkfest, complete with flowers and ribbons in his hat, by Derek Bird.

Next week’s theme is ‘purple’.
