FIVE of Oxfordshire's six MPs joined countless constituents at yesterday's 'Time Is Now' climate demonstration.
A coalition of environmental protesters from across the country descended on Westminster to lobby politicians over the issue.

Oxfordshire representatives Anneliese Dodds, Ed Vaizey, Robert Courts, Victoria Prentis and Layla Moran all spoke to constituents about the climate crisis.

Last week Oxford East's Ms Dodds was challenged by two constituents to meet with them at the rally, which was billed as a 'mass lobby' by green activists.

Having met those who challenged her, the Labour MP said: "It was really good to see so many of my constituents at the climate coalition lobby, from such a variety of different groups.

"They included pupils from St Gregs, volunteers at wildlife charity BBOWT, people who work in renewables, [christian charity] CAFOD volunteers, and many others who were deeply concerned about the climate crisis.

The Bishop of Oxford also joined demonstrators to urge politicians to act over the climate crisis.

But Henley's John Howell – who has been vocal on the issue previously – said he was unable to attend because he was attending the Council of Europe.
