POLICE have revealed more about a crash that closed the A44 at Woodstock yesterday as they appeal for witnesses to come forward.

At around 8.20am there was a collision between a KMT 125 motorcycle and a Volvo XC 90 on the A44 at the junction with the B4437, in Woodstock, near the Duke of Marlborough pub.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 27-year-old man from Kidlington, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he remains with serious injuries.

Several police cars, South Central Ambulance Service and Thames Valley Air Ambulance were on the scene throughout the morning, with the road was closed and diversions put in place until around 1pm.

Investigating officer PC Sian Carter of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing based at Bicester, said: “I am appealing for anybody who witnessed this collision to make contact with police.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anybody who may have dash-cam footage from around that time, or who saw the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the collision.

“Anybody with any information should call the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 43190193936 or alternatively make a report online.”
